For what it's worth I totally agree about the signature being the same one.

Yes, but... (isn’t there always a but  :P) I have Henry in 1891 living in Woolwich and working as a ‘Marine Store Dealer’.

I agree that the signatures are spot on, but he couldn’t have been in two places at the same time?

I’m so confused.com  ???

Do you know how long these men signed up for? If they were Militia did they become full time soldiers or were they part time (so could he have had another job?).

Excuse my ignorance, I’ve Google a lot of this but honestly, there’s so much information to sift through, and I don’t really understand most of it...

He wasn't a full time soldier. He was a militiaman. The only soldiering he did in 1891 was his annual training camp.
