Could it be spelt keaton

Irish Ancestors Wizard has Ceyton as a variant for Cayton. Keaton variants on same website are Ceaton, Geaton, Keeton, Keighton. https://www.johngrenham.com
There were no set spellings of surnames. Spelling might vary according to: whether the holder of the surname could read or write;  those who were literate might prefer one spelling to another or change a spelling; whether the name was familiar in the area; whether the scribe/priest/registrar was new to the area or job; holder of a surname being foreign or from a different region or having an unfamiliar accent or a speech impediment.
Some documents written by one person at one moment in time have different spellings.
Letters c and k are interchangeable; there is no k in the Irish alphabet.
