15 years on Rootschat Thank you

July 2005 for me.  What a brilliant site this is!  I've had so much help from various RootsChatters and I've been able to give some, too, especially on the Gloucestershire board, as I used to live close to Gloucester Record Office.  Along the way I've "lost" some Rootschat friends and remember specially tony h, who took photos of the graves of my ancestors for me.  Dale, too, who introduced me to this site but who has not been on it since 2016.  We had some laughs over our Fairey history but were never able to work out whether or how we were related, despite the fact that our relatives in each case came from a tiny Hunts village.

I am a "babe in the woods" 16 June 07.
Its been so long that I cant even remember how I found Rootschat but it was when I first started my own Family research.

There have been many wonderful people past and present that I have had the pleasure of researching with on here.

Its been quite a journey and helped me in good times and bad to have this Site.

Threlfall Yorky, I joined in 2009 too, actually I see I joined on my birthday 5th April 2009. My first post was to the Armed Forces board asking for help to identify a soldiers uniform from an old photo, of course it was identified. I have had so much help since then on many different boards. Thank you Tristan and Sarah there is so much help available to us on so many different subjects thanks to you. Thank you also to everybody who has helped me in so many ways.

In an ever changing world it's good to see some things stay the same.
People come & go & are sadly missed but new ones come along & leave their mark
& that's how it should be.
The world would be a duller place without Tristan & Sarah & RC of course.

I've had  help with searching families from Scotland, England, Canada ,Australia, and New Zealand
I have a big Thank you to all who have helped me during the past nearly 14 years .Also found some members of my own family who I have met from New Zealand and have had them come and stay

Twelve days to go for 15 years. I'd not long come out of hospital, having been somewhat poorly and waiting to go back for the op I needed. In the meantime …….. family history seemed like a good idea.

I have just checked my profile and I have only been on here 4 years so a long way to catch up.

I wish to thank Trystan and Sarah too and all who keep this site smoothly running.  It is great to be a part of RootsChat.  I really like seeing familiar names, like-minded people on here who have a passion for genealogy.   It feels like a marvelous club that you can drop in any time of the day or night.  It is great that we can discuss anything, .. ask any general question or share problems or concerns.  This place has given me so much enjoyment and I have learned a lot.
