Bishop transcripts of chiddingfold PR
« on: Friday 14 February 20 15:17 GMT (UK) »

The parish records of Chiddingfold are badly damaged for some reason, so assuming the
Bt copies were written each year or so there might just be a better image to look at, and
they survived and are in better comdition, the Familysearch shows them as in existance,
I am looking for a William Bartlett bp about 1760 to a Richard and Mary Bartlett, all the
baptism records just show the parent as Richard, Richard and Mary were married 28/Oct/ 1755
in Chiddingfold, the William I am after was married 29/Sept/1788 in the same parish, any way
lets hope the BT version is readable as against the PR.

Although I can't see the records, I would not be surprised to find that only the father is named for baptisms in 1760's.

Perhaps Surrey History Centre may be able to point you in the right direction for the BT's.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

I'm afraid there are hardly any Surrey parishes with surviving BTs before 1800.
