Ada Ward born 1901 in Tockwith Yorkshire

Ada Ward born 1901 in Tockwith Yorkshire, parents William Ward and Emma Blaken.  In 1903 Ada marries Frank Donkin.
They had 2 daughters Clara born 1904 and Kathleen born 1910.

On the GRO Record site both girl's Mother's maiden name is Blaken not Ward.  I checked the Mother's birth reg (Ada) which is Blaken.

My first thought was that Ada was not William Ward's daughter but adopted by him (not legally) should mention that William and Emma married on the 23 May 1900.  Cannot find Ada and Frank in 1939 so do not know what part of the year in 1901 Ada was born.

Sorry I think I am also confused. You said Ada was born in 1901 to William and Emma. Your next sentence says Ada marries in 1903 ........please can you clarify which bit is a typo as I don't think that's quite possible lol.

Frank donkin may have married ada blaken in 1903, (not ada ),  could this be Emma’s sister getting married.

What do you know for definite? William ward marries Emma Blaken? Then how many children do they have and what dates? I found it interesting looking at free bmd that on the page for Ward Blaken, there is an Ada Donkin! However another site seemed to ' prove ' that William and Emma did marry each other. We like a challenge especially as other people's trees can be more interesting than our own especially if we're stuck on our own!

You could be right Emma had a sister called Ada born 1880

One tree on Anc suggests that Ada Ward married William Scott (1899-1966) Pocklington 1927 March Qtr Vol 9d, Page 141
