Marriage 1840
« on: Monday 17 February 20 13:33 GMT (UK) »
I have seen a certificate and entry in theindex for 1840 for a marriage which took place in a church in London in Feb 1840.
The bride and groom surnames and first names are in the index for London venue. However, in line below grooms name his first names are missing, but surnameis shown and a reference to Chesterfield is given. Why would this be the case?

Never seen this before!

thanks

Firstly, welcome to Rootschat  :)

Could you give us the names, so that we can possibly look at the entry for ourselves.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

If you look at Free BMD and do search for Mr Barker. You can view transcriber note and copy of Index. Hope this helps.
