« on: Monday 17 February 20 22:05 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find out more about the Amhurst/Amherst family that lived at Saunders Park Charlesville Cork. My relative was a groomsman there who eloped with Lady Ann, any info would be helpful
Thanks

Sanders Park, according to those links William Saunders was there in 1814, don't see any reference to the Amherst family.
Could the groomsman have worked at Sanders Park and Lady Ann was from a neighbouring house, or have been a visitor there. Sometimes people visited for months.

Hi Sinnan,
Apparantly my 4th Great Grandfather was groomsman to Lord Amhurst/Amherst, they eloped.
William James Copley was born in Charleville, Cork. He married Lady Ann Amhurst in 1814. They had one child during their marriage. His name was Son was called James William Saunders Copley. From what I know they rented Saunders Park.
