The Invincibles, Joe brady family
« on: Tuesday 18 February 20 14:13 GMT (UK) »
Hi I'm looking to know , I have found  out that  a man called Joe Brady who was a part of a break way group called The Invincibles  and was involved in the phoenix's Park assassinations, my cousin who past away a few years back who was a   professor in trinity college Dublin,  had been doing family research  and had told his brothers and sisters that our grandfather was related to Joe Brady, now I have done some research myself and found out my Great Great Grandmother before she  married a Michael Darby, her name was Eliza Margaret Brady, unfortunately I can't find out anything more about her or how the connection was made my cousin didn't leave any paper trails, for his family to research, I have found out Joe father Thomas and his mother was Margaret, and they had 25 of a family, 20 sons and 5 Daughters. My Great Great Grandmother would have been born around 1811 and was married in 1831, so she would of been related to Joe father Thomas, she lived in Tyrone where her family were born if I can find a connection between the Bradys of Dublin and Tyrone then it's possible I can sort this puzzle out, any help in this matter would be much appreciated, Thanks

Just because Eliza has the same surname as Joe it may not be how the two families connect, it may be via one of Joe's many siblings or through the female side of either family, Joe's mother perhaps.
Do you know Margaret Brady's maiden surname?

Her name was Brady before marriage, and then her surname change to Darby when she got married , like I say I have very little to go on but one sure thing my cousin who was a Professor would have done a  deep search and would of  likely to have had access to Trinity Records etc while doing his research and that is why I'm taking his findings  seriously and he told his family  what was found out and he wouldn't of made this claim otherwise, there is no mention of Joe's mother maiden but I will look in to it

I found one of his sisters marriage
Monica married from their address at the time of Joe's death 22 North Anne St
She married Francis Kiernan

Their father Thomas was a paver according to online info on Joe so this birth appears to be her
1865 with mother Mary Anne Clancy

Although this baptism transcript gives her name as Cleary

Can't find a birth cert but there is a baptism of a Veronica Brady mother Mary Anne Clancy

There is a marriage of a Thomas Brady and Mary Anne Clancy in 1847 but no parents names
