Bath Chronicle 10 March 1785
« on: Wednesday 19 February 20 18:53 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone access a notice in the Bath Chronicle 10 March 1785 for me?  I appreciate that this is a really big ask.   :o

The reason is that I think it may include the name of Henry FISHER, and that's what I'd like to be able to check.

I have seen what must be some sort of digital transcription on line that does not make any real sense in terms of the English language  ::) but I can decipher the words under Education - Committee for Sunday Schools and what I think is his name, Henry FISHER.

I don't know whether this scant information would be enough to find this - a bit like a needle in a haystack I know - but I thought it might be worth asking, just in case.

Many many thanks

There is a reference to Henry Fisher in an  article on the front page of the Bath Chronicle 10 March 1785 ...it is in the same column as the one about the Education Committee for Sunday Schools .
It  reads:
"Bath  Jan 10th 1785
Any person willing to treat by Private Contract for either of several LEASEHOLD or FREHOLD ESTATES of the late Mr Thomas Jelly(?) deceas'd which were not sold by Auction ath The White Lion on the 6th inst. may now apply to Mr Henry Fisher, near Walcot Turnpike; Mr John Perry in Northgate Street or Messrs Trimmells ,upholders and auctioneers, Westgate Street"

Thanks ever so much djm - but do you mean that the notice about Sunday Schools doesn't include HENRY FISHER's name?

It really looked like it did in the gobbledygook! 😉

No mention of Henry Fisher in the Sunday School article , which is at the head of the column, with the article mentioning him being several articles below this in the same column, which might be why it all got transcribed together in the gobbledygook!
