Kazia Renham
« on: Thursday 20 February 20 19:57 GMT (UK) »
Hi, Born 1848 as Kasiah Wheelerbreed she married James Renham in 1873, had by 1881 census 3 children ref rg11 410 5 11. By 1891 ref rg12 261 24 43 she is with just her 3 children and also in the household an Edward J Delafore. 1901 ref rg13 297 27 11 records just her and Edward.
I have attached what I believe to be her death record in Vallance Road Infimary l but cannot find a GRO record to match. Can anyone explain this or find a death record
Thanks

John

There is a death registered for an Eliza Renham, Whitechapel, Dec ¼ 1901. Vallance Road Infimary was in Whitechapel.

The two deaths above hers are registered in Whitechapel and appear as detailed. However the closest I can see is Eliza Renham in last quarter 1901 but age is given as 47...... so may be way off being her.

The death had to be registered within five days, and the burial could not take place if the death had not been registered. So, ignoring the discrepancy in the age, it is most likely her.

There was an inquest into her death. Perhaps a reason for the difference in detail? The informant would have been the coroner.

The GRO ref, Dec 1901, 1c 196, also has an Eliza Wood, age 8
Is that Eliza Ward, 8, the next entry in the infirmary death register? Who died same day, 17 Oct. Also an inquest.

Buried at City of London Cemetery, 21 Oct, as Elizabeth Wood. Names the coroner.
