Parish Map
« on: Friday 28 February 20 08:47 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Does anyone happen to know if there is a parish map for Berkshire?

I am trying to establish what parishes were on the Oxfordshire border.

Regards

Thankyou teulu and chempat.

Chempat's map is more of what I had in mind but Teulu your map is very interesting and I am sure it will also come in useful.

Thanks both

This is probably what you're after.  Only 50p from Berks Family History Society!

UK census content is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk  Transcriptions are my own.

Do you mean something like this:

Surely that's the current map of West Berkshire parishes but does not include all of the parishes that moved to Oxfordshire in the 1974 reorganisation.
Census Information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

From an Oxfordshire point of view, try this:  https://www.ofhs.org.uk/web/parmapCounty/OXF3840.gif

Zoom in to see the details.  Solid black line = pre-1974 boundary; broken black line = post-1974.

This is the only map I have that shows both old and new boundaries.
