Wood and Heaton, 1851 and 1861
« on: Tuesday 03 March 20 10:42 GMT (UK) »
I've just got the birth certificate of Margaret Wood, born 1842 in Grendon, Atherstone.  Her father is Thomas Wood, born 1808 in Croxden.  Her mother is Catherine Heaton, which was a surprise to me, because the 1861 census shows Thomas's wife as Christiana (I don't have the reference now, my subscription has expired  :(  ) so the details of Christiana on that (born 1791 Cheddleston) don't apply to Catherine.  I can't find a marriage of Thomas to Catherine, or to Christiana.
I would appreciate a look-up of the 1851 and 1861 censuses for Thomas and children (Thomas 1841, Margaret 1842 and Charles 1844) so I can sort out who Margaret's mother is.
Godden in East Sussex, mainly Hastings area.
Richards in Lea, Gloucestershire, then London.
Williamson in Leith, Vickers in Nottingham.
Webb in Bildeston and Colchester.
Wesbroom in Kirby le Soken.
Ellington in Harwich.
Park, Palmer, Segar and Peartree in Kersey.

Just a thought - you can always use Family Search for census entries  :)

RG9/2192 folio 37 page 1 = 1861
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
