Elizabeth Blanchett or Branchett c1731/32
« on: Tuesday 10 March 20 01:01 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Is anyone able to double check the parish registers of Charing for the christening of the above lady? Her surname may be spelt Blanchett, Branchett, or possibly even Blackett or Brackett.

I have a note that she was born in Charing on 18 march 1731/32 and christened there on 16 April 1732. For some reason though I don't have the names of her parents written down. I suspect that her father is Thomas but I can't find her christening to confirm it.

Thanks for any help

Matt

Henry and Mary Branshett of the parish of Chilhom (sic) - image available on FindMyPast.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Hi there

Is this her parents? Is this a christening and if so where?

Thanks for letting us know it's on FindMyPast.

The baptism entry was the one you quoted - at Charing on 16 April 1732:

1732
Elizabeth daughter of Henry and Mary Branshett born Mar 18, bapt. 16 April of Chilham.

Actually there are two image versions available on FindMyPast - I assume one is the parish register and the other is the BT.

Hi again

Brilliant many thanks. Now I know where she fits in the family tree lol! Why I thought her father was Thomas I'm not sure!

Best Wishes and thanks
Matt
PS I'd not looked under Branshett lol! Branchett yes, but not Branshett.
