Elizabeth Davis/Davies
« on: Tuesday 10 March 20 21:27 GMT (UK) »
HI,
Trying to trace for my cousin, Elizabeth Davis/Davies (might be also known as Elizabeth Easton) who I think was born about 1840 Sberndlose, Montgomeryshire, Wales. She married George Aston born 17 SEP 1839 • Broseley, Shropshire, England a brick maker and lived in the Derbyshire and Middlesex areas,
I do not know when they married.
They had 3 sons George, John and Albert (my great grandfather) and 2 daughters, Mary and Ada. They moved to Australia in 1878.
Anyone know anything, please.
thanks.
AE

Sberndlose, Montgomeryshire, Wales?

Not sure about that. From the 1871 census from Keyboard-it looks more like one of those LLan?...
(don't ask me).

Thank you,
With a name like Davies, it's so hard.
Thanks AE

Maybe we should look around Middlesex for the marriage?

ASTON, MARY  ELIZABETH    mmn   DAVIS
 1866  D Quarter in HAMPSTEAD  Volume 01A  Page 587

  ASHTON, JAMES    mmn     DAVIES
1870  M Quarter in CHESTERFIELD IN THE COUNTY OF DERBY  Volume 07B  Page 602

EDIT:Sorry-well-someone had to do the dishes!

All things considered-what about this marriage:
FreeBMD
Marriages Jun Qtr 1863
Ashton  George     Newtown  11B 365
Davies  Elizabeth     Newtown  11b 365

Image on FMPast says -Geo (age 24) is a brickmaker-son of Jacob a Brickmaker and Eliz (age 23) is the daughter of Moses a lab.

And-Llanidloes. That's what the Sberndlose must be.
