This would fit with my x3 great grandfather Henry as he would be around the right age at that point for Communion. Thank you so much Monica!

Andrew, where do you have any of the family post 1861?

Yes, the family moved to South Shields between 1861 and 1869. Robert died in South Shields in 1869 and Mary died in 1872. Mary and son Robert are on the 1871 census in South Shields however Henry is not as he was away at sea.

 :) Yes saw that one with Mary a Widow but the age of 62 with a son Robert 16 both born Scotland put me off!

Yep - That's them. Not sure how or why they ended up in South Shields. I am unable to find anything else on Robert after the 1871 census but Henry stayed in South Shields.

OK sounds alright, then we only have the problem of how Elizabeth Wilson b c 1836 Glasgow is shown as a Stepdaughter in 1851?

OK sounds alright, then we only have the problem of how Elizabeth Wilson b c 1836 Glasgow is shown as a Stepdaughter in 1851?

Owing to the age gap between Robert and Mary I believe Mary must have been married prior to her marriage to Robert. Unfortunately Elizabeth is another one who I have had trouble finding after the 1851 census.

The only family of Wilson in Glasgow in 1841 with a possible chance of an Elizabeth b c 1835/6 is in Bryony has a family headed by an Alexander 40 and Mary 30 both born Ireland?
