Hi Raggyroo

I looked up the medical records for a death of a relative who died age 20 in the Royal Edinburgh in 1936.

With the knowledge known today I realised it was sepsis but pre antibiotics was untreatable.

I contacted Lothian Health board and they called them up for me, I then viewed them at Appleton tower in Edinburgh University.

I seem to remember it was a 75 year closure but that may be different since you are so closely related.

Good luck

If it is Aberdeen you are interested in you will need to contact the NHS Grampian Archives
