I have previously saw on here a link to a site which gave dates that photography studios were operating however I can't find it. Can someone re post the link please.

Just been having a browse on this site, and it seems to have turned into a pay-to-view the records.
I'm sure it didn't used to be.
Someone may know of another site.
Perhaps if you gave the name and place of the photographer you wanted, more sleuthing could be done.

There's a good site here if they were photographers in London.

When I was searching that is the only one that came up and the one I saw previously was free, yes it may have been the same site, which is a shame.

The following site had a reasonable listing of early photographers but is by no means comprehensive - some of the names that I am most interested in (early Scottish photographers) are missing. This link will take you to the start of the English listing but at the top of the page is a menu which allows you to access Scotish, Welsh and Irish photographers:-

To post a link from iPad, lightly touch the search bar  (eg on this page where it says Rootschat.com) , whole URL will be highlighted, touch again and you get an option to cut or copy.
Select copy then open your reply window in Rootschat, touch again, and option to Paste appears. Select Paste.
