Seeking burial of Walter Richard Rowles

Walter Richard Rowles was born on Tuesday, 20th February 1894 at No. 8 Rosemont Terrace, Clifton, Bristol, Gloucestershire the son of Edwin and Elizabeth Rowles (née Holloway), a ‘Seaman’ of Bristol.

He was baptised on 24th March 1894 at Holy Trinity Church, Clifton.

In the 1901 census the family are living at 10 Granville Place Bristol. Walter is age 7.

In the 1911 census he is age 17 and his occupation is ‘Greengrocer’s Assistant’.
He is living with his parents at 18 Oldfield Place, Hotwells, Bristol.

He served in the Royal Artillery and Royal Defence Corps from 1916 to 1918

He married Elsie Jane Biggins at Bristol in 1919. They had no children.
Eliza Jane died on 10th April 1975 at 34 Duckmoor Road, Ashton Gate, Bristol, age 77.


In the ‘1939 Register’ he is living at 34 Duckmoor Road, Ashton Gate, Bristol.
His occupation is listed as ‘Despatch Tobacco Packer in Warehouse’.

He died on Tuesday, 31st October 1950 at 34 Duckmoor Road, Ashton Gate, Bristol, age 56.
