Griffith's Valuation Question..
« on: Sunday 29 March 20 21:45 BST (UK) »
Is it possible to find out how much an occupier would pay in rent to the Lessor each year? I am assuming the only way would be to find estate or rental books of the Property owner?
Is the rateable value any guide?
Thanks

Supply and Demand plays a part too...

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Given that one of the demands which led to the Land War was for rents to match the rateable value I think it's safe to assume most paid above that value.

Link about land rental.

Also take into consideration if there was a "middleman" involved. The middleman rented a portion of land and then sublet it in smaller divisions for a higher amount.
