Help please Another unknown Liverpool Pal.
« on: Tuesday 31 March 20 16:47 BST (UK) »
Just started to research another fallen Liverpool Pals Soldier with no past.
He is 25705 Pte Frank Ainsworth 18th Btn Kings (Liverpool Regiment)  Killed in Action 01/07/1916
at The First Battle of the Somme
The CWGC site and the Liverpoolpals site have no information about his Life or Family
So have taken the Challenge and with Genies help from this Forum we can crack the Mystery.
I set up a Sub site Frank Ainsworth on my Ancestry Account under almoi1 and searching Military Records it found Soldiers Effects Record showing that he was AKA Frank Gandy and his Wages and Gratuity sent to his Father Edward Gandy
I found Frank Gandy's Birth Registration March Quarter 1895 Chester Vol 8a page 430 Mother's Maiden Name shown as Woollam
Freebmd found Edward Gandy married Martha Jane Woollam in Chester June Quarter 1886
They appear to have had 14 kids pre 1911of which  3 died pre 1911 but his 1911 Census he claims only 13 with 3 dying pre 1911
What I need help with is any Military Records like Attestation under Gandy or Ainsworth and any Medals Cards etc
Any Voters Lists or Kelly's Directory entries.

Any pointers or help greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Medal Card:

https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D1648782

No service record apparent.  Gratuity gives joining date of the month of March 1915.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
