Lycett gentry family of Weston and Stafford
« on: Wednesday 08 April 20 00:56 BST (UK) »
I am looking for any information related to the Lycett family, who I believe to have been part of the local gentry in the Stafford area. Francis Lycett born about 1710, wife of Ann Thompson, was my ancestor and he was a gentleman resident at Weston Hall. He left a substantial fortune in his will but as for his family origins and how he came into his money I am unsure.

His daughter Mary married my 5x great grandfather Archibald Campbell, PhD.

I believe Francis' parents are Joseph and Isabella (or Elizabeth) Lycett.

Any more information about Francis, or his ancestors would be much appreciated.

According to the notation written to the side of the will on the second page daughter Ann was a spinster, daughter Mary wife of Archibald Campbell.

The original administrators the brother in law Roger Thompson and John Thompson of Gayton in Stafford yeoman both died intestate.
18 April 1792 admin was granted to Francis son of Francis.
26 September 1792 Ann and Mary are mentioned along with John and William.
