PHAIR, Cork city
« on: Saturday 11 April 20 17:33 BST (UK) »
Herbert Phair and Anne Magner, both born abt 1833. Had kids Anne, Margaret and Patrick, all born late 1860's to early 1870's. Checked nearest church records, but the closest, st. vincents, not available online. Looking for marriage and birth records, have civil birth records for Anne and Margaret. Any help or advice greatly appreciated, thank you, Rob

Hi,
As they were born in the 1860's use this...…..
https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/

Going by Anne's birth, see link, it gives Herbert's occupation
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1866/03523/2296216.pdf

This is Herbert's death
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1878/020498/7192971.pdf
Mary's birth 1874
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1873/03190/2169755.pdf

This next record is listed in Ancestry (easier to search) you will have to look in St Mary's Cork.

Hi I just found this..

16th June 1861 Catherine to Herbert and Anne (Magner)
Mallow
There is another couple …….Herbert Phair and a Ellen Magner in Kanturk
I can't see the marriage.

There is an Edward Manger in Mallow in 1851 in Griffiths Valuation, townland of Ballyviniter.

Maggsie, thank you so very much for your time and effort. I did not know about Mary or Catherine. Herbert and Anne must have married earlier than I thought....have to readjust my search timeline. Sincere gratitude, Rob

If the death record for Herbert is correct (and I believe it is), he would have been born 1804. If so, he would have been 57 at the time of Catherine's birth and 69 at the time of Mary's. In your experience, how unusual is this? Again, any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Rob
