Charles Jutsum born London 1888, WW1victim ?
« on: Thursday 16 April 20 02:19 BST (UK) »
Charles Jutsum , middle name unknown ,born 1888, parents George Caleb And Sophia Jutsum . I can not find his death during the war or after . Family letters say he got to the end of war unscathed but in last few months was killed by a sniper . He is definitely NOT RICHARD CHARLES JUTSUM , killed in Match 1916 . Richard was his nephew but was bought up by George Caleb and Sophia . This is verified with the1911 census of Sophia Moore in Bermondsey .
I have been unable to find Charles Jutsum anywhere . He is also Not the Charles Frederick Jutsum in New York , US, that is an uncle .
I may have asked this question years ago but I am no further forward , I have no wife or family . Thanks Fred ,.

That certainly looks likely Shaun.

Just to get it all straight according to the records:

Richard Charles JUTSUM born 1888 (mother's maiden name RUSSELL)

In 1891 at Knowsley Road, Battersey
George Caleb Jutsum          41   Chelsea   (plasterer)
Charlotte Sophia Jutsum     40   Chelsea
Alice Sophia Jutsum             20   Chelsea   (ironer)
Charlotte Sophia Jutsum     12   Chelsea
Louisa Jutsum                       10    Battersea
George Judson Jutsum          8    Tooting
Eleanor Jutsum                      6     Tooting
Charles Jutsum                      3     Battersea
RG12/421pg 44

George Caleb JUTSUM dies Jan qtr 1895
Sophia Charlotte JUTSUM marries Abraham MOORE 13 Dec 1897

In 1901 at Bermondsey:
Abram Moore           50   Norwich, Norfolk   (farmer)
Sophia Moore          50    Chelsea, London
George Jutsum        18    Earlsfield   (railway porter)
Louisa Jutsum          20    Battersea, London  (weaver)
Ellen Jutsum             17    Earlsfield
Charlie Jutsum         14    Battersea, London
RG13/396 pg19

In 1911 at Bermondsey:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XWPP-5MM
22 yr old Charles JUTSUM is a dyer (leather)
19 yr old Richard JUTSUM is a labourer (stone work)
I notice Abraham MOORE filled in the form - maybe being step father he  made an error in 19yr old Richard's surname?

Then, as Sandra found, Charles JUTSUM (mother Sophia MOORE) spends a day at the workhouse in 1912.
