What became of William and Ann Husband?
« on: Friday 17 April 20 10:55 BST (UK) »
Hello,

William and Ann came from Cornwall (the St. Austell area). Their last child, Ann Husband, was christened at Plymouth St. Andrew on the 14th of January 1827. I can’t find any trace of them after then.

I know at least two of their children moved to Jersey, but I’ve already searched Jerripedia for burials and found nothing. I can only find one burial for a William Husband at Ford Park Cemetery, but that is for a man from Brixham in Devon, married to a Jane.

I’d appreciate any help!

I’ve narrowed down William’s baptism. I ruled out two through finding where they were, so he was either christened in St. Ewe in 1783 (the 1811 marriage says he was from St. Ewe) or in St. Austell in 1790. I’m inclined towards the St. Ewe christening. Still no sign of a death or burial. His wife was christened in 1794.

A William Husband, labourer, of St Ewe was transported for life in 1833 for sheep stealing.

What was your William's occupation? When & where were their children born? Any sign of a naming pattern?

There's a baptism for Richard Mitchell Husband son of William, miner, and Ann 26 Oct 1823 who would seem to be the son of the couple who married in Gorran in 1811.

William was a mason. I’ve attached an image listing his children, from a genealogist I hired. It would be interesting!

strange that the occupation on the baptisms of Thomas (1821) & Richard has been transcribed as miner. No scan on FamilySearch so I can't check original. You could ask the opc for the parish to check.
