Memorial Bill - William Hedley Charlton
« on: Sunday 19 April 20 18:13 BST (UK) »
Attached is a letter detailing the cost of a memorial to my late Gt Gt Uncle William Hedley Charlton (d. 1st Sep 1902). According to the document (dated 12th Aug 1903) he was buried in Hamsterley grave yard.

What I can't fathom is why is there a pencil drawing of a lady stapled to the bill? It isn't referred to in the bill.  I don't think the grave stone is there anymore as Hamsterley Cemetery is 100% photographed on 'Find a Grave' and it doesn't come up in a search.

Any suggestions as to why this picture would be included on a memorial bill are greatly appreciated.  Thank you x

That doesn't mean that the cemetery is 100% photographed. It means that all the memorials entered on findagrave have photographs attached. There may be many more graves in the cemetery that have not been entered yet. Findagrave have no way of knowing how many graves are in the cemetery.

If there is no memorial for him on findagrave, you could make one and request a photo of the grave.
