May I suggest that if spec is interested, there are quite a few mentions of the family, particularly in the Mackay Daily Mercury which give a nice indication of life in the area. Searching trove with keywords "Rolfe Koumala" is a good way to start.

Just found a list of scholarship results for Mackay and District which includes Edwin C ROLFE and my own mother (who also grew up in Mackay)  Actually, I had never seen this particular entry before, so that's made my day.

Charlie Elijahs brother Richard James went to Australia joined the forces was killed 1918 on the Somme
a sister Polly Selina also came to Australia i believe she wed a Smith and later divorced .i am still going through all the info sent to me ..spec
