Family in the Army in India and Burma.

Hi all my father was in the British Army during WWII he was in the Royal Army Medical Corp. His name is William Saviel and his sister was also in the Army Her name was Doris H Saviel she was an Nurse.
My father younger brothers where also in the Army they are Harold Saviel and Bertram H Saviel all was serving in Burma .

if anyone has information on them let me know.

George, do you have any of their service records? All WW2 records are still with the MOD, so you would need to apply for them and provide some supporting documentation.

Unfortunately it would be quite costly to obtain all of them as they cost £30 each, but maybe you could collect them over time.

Googling some of these names results in a number of hits including a google book. George, I presume that you are the author of much of these? If so, you have done a lot of work.  :)

Obtaining the service records should provide you with a lot of additional information.

After you have the service records you might be interested in the war diaries which are held at the National Archives in Kew. I believe that sometimes there is mention of ancestors though it is not guaranteed. You do need the service records first so you can search specific units etc:

Records need to be ordered to view in person, but if you are unable to get to Kew yourself, there are people who can copy records for you for a fee. Presumably Kew will be closed for the time being.
