Elizabeth Lilley, Parents?
« on: Thursday 23 April 20 15:52 BST (UK) »
Hi, I've got an Elizabeth Lilley, born 1809 in Marnhull, to James and Ann Lilley, I've got details of an Ann Lilley b. 1786 to d.1821. which would match up, however I cannot find anything on James, I have noted that James possibly died in 1856? but down to the 1841 census this would mean he would have remarried? However, I cannot find any other records for a James Lilley, birth date. Is it possible James was actually, William? In the Dorset OPC Marnhull page there are lots of births for a William & Ann Lilley around the same time? William Lilliey & Ann Adams married in 1802? Hope that makes sense thanks

How old was he in 1856, if you have him on the 1851 census and 1841 census do you mean he has another wife?

Can you say who he is with on the 1841 census you have please.

One was a Harriet, but on the marriage certificate I believe it said single, which made me doubt whether or not it was James Lilley that married Ann despite it saying in the birth certificate of Elizabeth Lilley. I could not see a James in the 1841, or 1851 census which made me doubt the father of Elizabeth Lilley died in 1856.  Hope that makes sense.

The only deaths of a James Lilley in 1856 anywhere, are age 1 and 5 on GRO.
