New Deer Cemetery
« on: Wednesday 29 April 20 08:47 BST (UK) »
I'm probably clutching at straws but Findagrave has a memorial stone for James Ironside but gives neither birth or death dates and the picture is unreadable.  Does anyone know where I might be able to find a transcription of the inscription?  I only have the Memorial ID of 196290336.  Thanks.

Have you tried http://www.anesfhs.org.uk/databank/miindex/miindex.php ?

The memorial ID on FindaGrave is specific to FindaGrave and won't really help to find the stone.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Findmypast have monumental inscriptions for New Deer.
If you figure out which James Ironside is the one on Findagrave, please let us know. I have a 5th great grandfather James Ironside who lived in New Deer, but I have not yet researched his death.

My 7th great grandfather James Ironside but I have no birth or death details about him, he was married to Sarah Crawford.  His son John (6 ggf) was born 1717 in New Deer and died 1785  he was married to Jannet Beadie.  Not sure if these are the same ancestors as yourself Craclyn.
