Ok. I’ll see what else I can find between now and your phone call then 😊
I think the next generation needs a Thomas, if only as a middle name 🤣🤣

Yes. That’s right.
I’m just seeing if I can find your 3xgreat grandfather’s birth. I’ll work on the women then.
Enjoy your phone call.
Are you isolating? I’m just about to ring my dad 😊

Thank You
Yes I’m  isolating but fortunately have my small bungalow in garden at bottom of my daughters house — I can’t get my head around all you have found out for me in such a short time even my daughter and grand daughter are amazed as I text them today every hour with another find
Thanks a million

Hi
I’ve been investigating your grandfather’s mother’s side of the family.
Some of these have been easier to find than your Wilsons. You might need a pen and paper to make sense of this. I had to write it down as I started getting lost!

There are a few dead ends, so I’ll post those as a new question, as your original question on here is different to what we’ve found. Let’s see if anyone can solve those.

Ok. Here goes ...

George James Wilson’s Mother was Ruth Whalesby. She married Thomas Wilson in 1843 at Romford. Although at her baptism in 1821, there is no father listed (so illegitimate) she gives her father‘S name as Daniel hunt on her marriage registration. Her mother died as a Whalesby, so can’t have been a step father?

Ruth’s Mother was Elisabeth Whalesby. She was baptised in Stanford rivers in 1796 and died in 1835.

Elizabeth's parents were John Whalesby and Elisabeth Bush. They married in 1791 in Stanford Rivers. I can’t find Elisabeth bush’s birth at the moment.

Elisabeth Whalesby’s father, John, was born in North Weald Bassett in 1773. His parents were John Whalesby and Sarah Benton. They married in Fyfield in 1766. I checked the record as the marriage is a bit further away than I was expecting and it does say that he was from North Weald Bassett.

John’s parents were John and Grace. Not found anything about them yet though.

Sarah Benton was born in 1740 in Fyfield. Her parents were Thomas Benton and Mary Nickolls. They married in 1736. I didn’t find any more on Thomas Benton. However, Mary was born in 1714 in Shelley. Her father was John nicholls. I think I’ve found his birth in 1687 in Shelley, which fits, but there are also two John nicholls who are buried there in 1687. No ages given. Didn’t find any marriages for the John nickolls.

This will keep you going for a while. Maybe we’ll find more.

Best wishes
