William Cecil and sons from Kenilworth to Melbourne circa 1853
« on: Saturday 09 May 20 11:34 BST (UK) »
Hello troops trying to find offspring of a William Cecil who was born in Kenilworth, Montgomeryshire ( or Skenfrith) about 1810. He seems to have come to Australia (Melbourne) about 1853. He had a number of sons including Thomas (1839-1912), William Alfred (1843-1902), Philip (1848-1866), and Charles Henry (1852-1928) all of whom died in Victoria. Efforts thru trove have been scanty.
Cheers
Jack Gee

His probate papers, will and inventory are digitised.

William CECIL, farmer, of Oak Farm, near Melton Victoria, died 15 June 1882

Deposition names his children:
Thomas, William, Charles and Augusta CECIL, Theresa TREVENA, Helen McQUADE

He leaves most of his estate to be divided equally among his children with extra provision to Helen McQUADE  'on account of her great kindness to me and because she has a large family to support'.
