Hello Sandra,

I couldn't sleep so have come back to the research to discover your efforts on my behalf.

Thank you so very much.  I was reading the article at the following address and it indicated there was more on page 3 https://www.newspapers.com/clip/51653079/e-t-scowcroft/

I will see if I can find when Edward arrived in the USA.  His father came to Australia and died here.

Many thanks once again.

Census records indicate he immigrated in 1870.

This appears to be him immigrating in March 1870. He is listed as a carpenter

Passenger list: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QVPV-K8LZ

This would be him in the 1870 census taken on 16 June 1870. Occupation -carpenter

1870 census: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M8XT-D5L

His Naturalization Record in 1870 list him as a carpenter.

Thank you so much RJ137.

Can you make out the date of death as per the newspaper clipping for Edward in Mar 1921?

In the immigration record there is a notation by his name "The country to which they severally belong" and its noted as United States.  Does that mean he was already living in the USA and perhaps had returned to Wales and in Mar 1871 he was once again returning to the USA????
