My husband's German grandfather was Karl Fritz Richard Wolter. Karl's daughter (husband's German mother Renate, now deceased) knew nothing about him, as he allegedly had left the family home soon after she was born in 1935, and then died sometime soon afterwords. So I am trying to find more information about him, but I can find no record of his existence. This is the father's name as recorded on mum's birth certificate. Any clues please?
Karl's "wife" (we can't be sure they were married) was Johanna Maria van den Bruck from Wesel. She was born in 1907.
