Rothesay - Sarah McDermott

Hello all, I’m looking for any childhood details/photos/schooling of my Grandmother Sarah (Sadie) McDermott. Born 1908.
Last address in Rothesay was at 28 Ladeside St Rothesay in 1927 before travelling to Australia at age 19 with her mother & brother.
Sarah (Sadie) McDermotts parents names were Sarah & John McDermott. Her younger brothers name was James.

John MacDermott is noted on the Valuation Rolls for 1914/16 , 1920/22 , 1924/25 , dwelling house 28 Ladeside Street , Rothesay , Bute.

I am searching now when John McDermott died, as it would seem his widow Sarah McDermott (maiden name Spiers) went to Australia without him in 1927. He possibly died between 1922-1927?

Where would I search where John McDermott & Sarah Spiers married? I’m hopeful it was in Rothesay too?

With so many John McDermott’s what would you suggest I do, to find out when he passed?

He was in Rothesay in 1911 and his wife Sarah and two children (aged 18 & 16) went to Australia in 1927. I’m guessing he passed away between then. 

Any advice appreciated 😊

There is only one death showing in Bute between 1911 to 1927:

John MCDERMOTT
Age 71
1926
558/ 4
Rothesay

Could the age have been misindexed as 71 rather than 41? From Ev's notes on the 1911 census index, John showing as aged 26.

Mmm...looking at the shipping manifest in 1927, Sarah showed as a 'housewife'. This would normally indicate she was married, rather than widowed. Just in case, have you searched for John McDermott on the manifests in case he travelled separately? Maybe ahead of his family?

Added: What happened with son John who showed in 1911 as aged 5?
