Really helpful hints on Rootsmagic !!

I don't usually look at the "webhints" on Rootsmagic but I have been searching for years for the parents of my 4x great grandmother Ann Clarke (born around 1774, died 1835 in Wilton and married George Gotts in 1795) so when the hint said it provided the name of her father I thought I would take a look. It said "father unknown Clarke". I would never have guessed that her father's surname might also be Clarke !!

There is an Ann Gotts buried in Methwold 26 October 1835 age 60

George Gotts age 78 buried 27 November 1853 at Hockwold cum Wilton

Thank you, I have all the info on the family after Ann and George married and I have George's parents. It is purely Ann's parents who elude me, partly because Clarke is a very common surname.

I expect you are aware of Wright Mayhoe Clarke and Elizabeth King marriage at Methwold 13 Oct 1774.

Wondering if Ann is theirs and baptism took place elsewhere.

Norfolk Record Office have a will for Wright Mayhew Clarke dated 1815.

Clarke, Wright Mayhew, of Methwold   1815   ANF will register 1814-1815 fo. 421 (1815 no. 41)

This will is locked on Family Search, but can been seen at a family history center.

thanks I was not aware of a will. I will try to find it and see if it gives any clues. The problem I have is that there are several Ann Clarkes baptised around 1774 in the area.
