Hey Gadget! Long time no speak. Hope you are well?

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to help me with this. It’s really appreciated.

My dad said the house was located on the right hand side immediately after the bridge as you pass under it on the Whittington Road. I can remember my father showing me many, many yrs ago... the house itself was detached, small and looked Victorian. I also remember thinking how drab it looked.

Just looked on Google Earth and there doesn’t appear to be anything there now apart from trees and situated further back are warehouses belonging to Arcwood.

My dad remembers his mother and grandmother, Sarah Ann, taking him to a church when he was a very small child which was in a rural location but he couldn’t remember where so I looked at an old census transcription and found Sarah Ann living with her family at Sellatyn which is near Oswestry... i’m guessing that at some point Sarah Ann and her parents Joseph and Ann Wright must have moved from there to Whittington Road.

Quite a few of my Joneses are in there. I've walked around and taken pics.

Say hello to them for me  :)

I think this is it - very small and just number identifier on this machine.

If you look at the maps on old-maps in my reply #1, there are no dwellings at all where you describe until you get down to the 1926 map, when what may be a house (but could be a building relating to the railway) appears quite close to the railway line. I can't see any trace of it, or any foundations, on current google maps, unless it is hiding under the trees.  :)

Yes, I'm wondering if they were the houses called Bridge Terrace here:
