I suspect George Gould, the landlord in the 1870s, was probably the son of John Gould, the landlord in the 1830s.
There's a few references to George's full name being George Handy Gould, who was baptised at Woodford in 1834, the son of John and Mary Ann.
I think that John may have died in 1834 and that his widow may have had a child with Thomas Radley, the landlord in the 1840-1860s. The child being Mary Anne, born c1837, who is with Thomas on the 1851 and 1861 censuses, and later married Charles Reason in 1869, in Shoreditch.
I couldn't find any likely looking marriage for Thomas Radley and there's curious phrase on Thomas' probate entry, "a bachelor deceased". And yet he's listed on censuses as being a widower.
A few records that
may help support those ideas.
