Catholic marriage, Blessington, Wicklow
« on: Sunday 31 May 20 03:15 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Have an RC marriage, 25 May 1847 between Michael Walsh and Mary Smith.  There is a note attached "By Dispensation, Third Witness:  Philip Byrne.

Not sure why a dispensation was granted and am not knowledgeable of why these are given.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  TIA

Thank you for the links. Appears there are a lot of reasons for dispensation.
