Who is Ralphie Walker .

Hi , for many years I heard of a “ Ralphie “ in our family but I don’t know where he fitted in . Today I have found a photo of him as a young boy . Onthe back is T/SGT.RJ WALKER . 302nd TAC. REC.SQ.
A.P.O. . 130NY again NY . Ralph jar. March 1954 .above it all is 18130049. In pencil ALACHUA .
There is no one alive in my family that could tell me these references . My family lived n Kenton . Hackney . Any ideas . Thanks . Fred .

That gravestone could well be correct as the photo is 1954 and the boy could be six or seven . It is sad we don’t listen to all our family stories . It makes one think that his father may have been in London in World War 2 . I will dig deeper now I have those names . Thank you . Jan .

Hi Thank you , I think in my photos is a man I don’t recognise in uniform so I will look for it and see what I find out . On the gravestone is the word at bottom “ Bettye “ . I wonder if this has a bearing on his plane etc . It might be a custom in the States but I don’t know it’s significance. Thank you . Fred .

Trees on Anc suggests this wife Eunice had the middle name Elizabeth and her nickname was Bettye?

I think 'Bettye' may have been a nickname for Eunice as it is above her name n gravestone? Worth trying to find an obituary for her.
