J**** E**** B******* , born 1951
« on: Friday 05 June 20 18:32 BST (UK) »
I am trying to trace my wife's brother, J E B, who was born on the 1951 in West Calder.
He was adopted when only a few months old, due to his mother dying as a result of childbirth problems.
The only info we have is that he was "adopted outwith the village", and his surname, at least, will have changed.  We have searched for many years for him, and hope that this page will finally give us answers.

Sorry to have to disappoint you, but we are not permitted to discuss on RootsChat anyone who is or may still be living.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Hi , welcome to RC  :)

Unfortunately this site has a no living person policy.
Was the adoption official ?

Perhaps others could help with general advice ?

After dolittle1 has made a couple more posts, maybe some help could be given via PM.  :)

Hi and welcome  :)

Have you considered your wife doing a DNA test via Ancestry.  He or one of his descendants might have done a test and you might find him that way.

It's worth considering if all else fails.

Have you tried paying for a specialist tracing company to track him down.

Or you could also contact the production team of the TV show Long Lost Family.
