« on: Tuesday 09 June 20 18:26 BST (UK) »
On my great grandparents marriage certificate dated 1887 it say that my great grandmother was living at 10 Union Street Cardiff I've tried Google and trying to work out if there was houses there in 1887.
Thanks in advance

Hopefully this is a link to a map including the street in 1898 but it doesn't show much detail sadly https://maps.nls.uk/view/102183807#zoom=6&lat=3166&lon=2666&layers=BT

This site has a photo - presumably after some of the buildings were demolished  http://www.rootschat.com/links/01pkr/

If it helps I found several newspaper articles referring to 10 Union St Cardiff

21 December 1889 - Cardiff Times
On Monday morning, John Jones of 10, Union-street. Cardiff, a carter in the employ of the Great Western Railway Company, was admitted to the infirmary

23 March 1872- Cardiff Times
On March 17, at Cathays, the wife of Mr. William Williams, carpenter, of 10, Union-street, Cardiff, of twin sons.

and in 1931 Western Mail - reference to PAGE & STIBBS LTD. Electrical Contractors 9 & 10. UNION STREET, CARDIFF

You can see Union Street on the 1880 map at https://www.old-maps.co.uk/#/Map/318545/176360/12/100196
and in more detail on the town plan at https://www.old-maps.co.uk/#/Map/318545/176360/13/100634

You don't need to subscribe, just change the zoom level with the - in the top left corner.

My great grandparents lived at 6, Union Street in 1899 and previously just around the corner in Plymouth Street and before that in Frederick Street and before that in Ebenezar Street. I remember being shown the house when it was derelict (1960's) as the place where  they lived. It was certainly there in the 1860's.
