Society Diarists during the 1800's in London, Brighton and Ireland

I am seeking some advice on people who wrote diaries which have since been published concerning high society and the "well to do" esepcially of the first half of the 1800's in London, Brighton and Ireland (Dublin and Cork in particular). This is to broaden my understanding of the lives of my ancestors who lived in these places that were of independent financial means at the time.

I am particularly interested in the Chelsea, Maida Vale, Paddington and Kilburn areas of London and the home counties surrounding London.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

If you haven't already used it, you could look at British manuscript diaries of the nineteenth century, by John Stuart Batts, Centaur Press, 1976, which you may find useful.

Thanks Mckha and Watson for your suggestions. I've ordered a copy of the book Watson, which I didn't have.

I'm also going to try to find a source online of the rate books for the areas I'm interested in, to try to pin down where my ancestors lived more precisely.
