Hi Ev --- yes Edward Goodwin died in 1910 -- age at death given as 52 - it's definitely him.

Parents again are shown as John Goodwin and Catherine Ryan - BUT, Roseann, who registered the death would probably have obtained that information from their marriage certificate.

By the time he died, Edward was a Window Cleaner.

His birth at the moment is still a mystery.

Ev --- you are on a roll - see what you can do! (Only joking!)

Oh my goodness Ev -- could this query get any more complicated!

I cannot find a marriage for a Catherine Ryan to John Goodwin in Irish RC records (it would be before the date of Civil Registration in Ireland (1864) - and MAY be before the date of Civil Registration in Scotland (1855).

Seems like a thick brick wall at the moment.

Hi , welcome to RC  :)

What was Edward's occupation on the marriage certificate ?
Have you located him on the 1881 Census ?

ev

Thank you. Finding all this really interesting  :)  :)
Edward's occupation was listed as Fruit dealers porter and no I haven't found him on
the 1881 census.

There is 1901 census record of an Edward Goodwin b1860 in Glasgow with Rose Ann where there may be a typo as it says she is 29.  Seems like they have children Anne 20, Mary 18, Edward 14 and John 10.

He is a dock labourer and they are living at 126 Picadilly St

There is no image of the record on Ancestry just the transcript.

Scotlands People will have more infor but it is a site where you have to buy credits.  This comes up as a possible birth.

GOODWIN
EDWARD

Milton

Thank you I will look on Scotland's people website and see what I can find.   :)

Hello. Thank you for this but may I ask, where did you find the information on Edward Goodwin's death in 1910? I couldn't find anything. ???

Oh my goodness Dave -- I have slept since then! Just had to refresh my useless memory on this query.

I obtained it from Scotlands People. As you probably know you can view the actual death certificate on that site for 6 units. I felt generous and splashed out.

His wife is shown as Rose Ann Tazzar - so the death (25th October 1910, Springburn - Lanark) is your ancestor.

Thank you. I have logged on to Scotland's people and found the document. At least that's a little more information. Thanks again.
