Baptism of Quintine Bone 1712
« on: Monday 15 June 20 15:56 BST (UK) »
I'm looking at this baptism record from Dalrymple that says:

June 22. Quinteen Bone at Dalrymple Church had a son baptised called Quinteen.

I'm wondering about the 'at Dalrymple Church' bit. All the other records on the page say 'in' and a place name and often the father's occupation.

Any ideas what that means? Or am I over thinking?

I don't see that on the original Bpt. from SP

However I do see that in marriages which are above and is normal if one spouse is from another parish.

Don
For others SP has incorrectly indexed the entry it is on page 12/314

I have turned off all email notifications, thank you.

22nd June 1712 was a Sunday, but "at Dalrymple Church" will just mean that he lives beside the kirk. There was often a "kirkton" at the church.

Maybe the others were baptised at home?

Skoosh.
