There is another passenger list record for Isabella Craig, father Thomas Craig of Toberlane Co Cavan.  Sept 26 1909 on the Columbia.  Departing Londonderry - arriving New York.   She is a maid.  Her last permanent residence was Ballyconnell.  She is 27 and going to a cousin, Mary Devine of Columbus Ave, New York.  It also says she has been in the US for several years before (1898 - 1906??)

Could this be the same Isabella from the 1916 passenger list?

John Craig and family in Montreal in 1911.  Wife is Nellie Barr.  Mother in law Mary Barr is living with them.  Son John.  Daughters Mary and Bella.  The names all line up with the obit for John Cunningham Craig that Sandra found.

John says he came to Canada in 1907.

On the 1910 census, there are Devines on Columbus Ave:

Mary B Devine  10  bn New York
Florence Devine  9  bn New York
Evelyn Devine  5 bn New York
Victor Devine  3 bn New York
Bernard Devine 11mnths  bn New York

Further down the road:
Anna Daly  45  bn Ireland  Immigrated 1878
Katherine Daly  40  bn Ireland  Immigrated 1878
Patrick Devine nephew  26  bn New York
James Devine  nephew  22 bn New York
Hugh Devine  nephew  20  bn New York

and this batch (the enumerator must have hand-cramp by this point because the writing is dire!)
Nellie Devine  40  bn Ireland  Immigrated 1875
Marry Devine  46  bn Ireland  Immigrated Not Known

Hi,

I think we are barking up the wrong tree with those passenger lists.  I believe that the 1916 one and the 1909 one are for the same person.  That Isabella's father is Thomas.

Great find - the Devine's on Columbus Ave in 1910.  This should help rule out/rule in the passenger list Isabella for certain.
