« on: Wednesday 17 June 20 15:21 BST (UK) »
I am looking for information of George Cruickshank b 1869 Oyne Aberdeenshire.
I can find a marriage record  to a Mary Reid on 13th Dec 1895
Also can find a census record for 1911 for West Aberdeenshire
His occupation was photographer but I cannot see where his wife was born (terrible handwriting)
Assistance appreciated. David

You have to pay to view a 1911 image on SP

If he married in 1895 - have you found them on the 1901 census?  Perhaps Mary's birthplace will be clearer

CaroleW Yes,I did pay to see the 1911 census on S.P and following your suggestion the same for the 1911 census. It looks like Mary was born in Birse. Thank You. David

Hi David

You have Mary's parents from her marriage reg. She was a some years older than her husband wasn't she? There is this birth index entry in Birse www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XY5F-SDS

Her 1901 entry shows birth yr c. 1864 doesn't it...maybe trying to minimise age difference with George...

Just found the death record of Mary Cruickshank on 24 March 1960 at Aberdeen Age 88.
Took lots of credits on S.P but worth it. Now, to tackle the rest HUGE Cruickshank family.
Thanks again for your help. David

Thanks for update, David. Sounds like you are up and running  ;)

Mary's death in 1950 rather than 1960 wasn't it? The thing to remember when searching for deaths of married women is that you can search for a death with both the maiden name and married name which helps reduce options on the search results.

Good luck with it all  :)
