Hello,

The GRO has two marriage entries in Newton Abbot for a Samuel Withers:

(1):   2nd quarter 1875 to Ellen EVANS who died 3rd quarter 1882: and

(2):   1st quarter 1884 to Elizabeth Jane WOOD.

Can anyone please confirm the husband in both cases was the son of Samuel and Julia WITHERS.....I am extremely doubtful by the way ???

1881 census for Samuel & Ellen - Samuel age 32, so probably the son of John & Maria

1891 for Elizabeth J with some children from 1881 but no Samuel

You have answered my question, in that this Samuel WINTERS seems to have been born 1849 Newton Abbot.....he does appear in 1901 married to Elizabeth.
