Eli Long family
« on: Saturday 27 June 20 11:42 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone
I am researching the family of Eli Long b. Honiton 1834 and Charlotte Bird b.c.1834 Honiton. Eli went on to marry Harriet Evans after Charlotte died in 1873 I would like any info on 4 of Eli and Charlottes children. Henry b 1856  Honiton.  Rhoda b.1858 Honiton  Charles  b. 1865 Honiton   and Edith Lucy b 1869 Honiton.  I cannot find any trace of them after the 1881 census. I have traced the whereabouts of all their siblings. They just seem to have disappeared. Any help appreciated
Thanks

In the 1881 census Henry was living in Sevenoaks Kent unmarried occupation Labourer in brick yard. Charles was living with a William Braddick occupation shoe makers apprentice. Edith was living with Eli and Harriet unmarried. Cannot find Rhoda after the 1871 census no death or marriage. I cannot find any other info. on any of them.
many thanks

That's a possible. Who is George though? There was an Edward in 1881.

Possible burial for Eli aged 57 8 Nov 1896 Exeter St David address Chapple's Court, St David's Hill. haven't spotted this one on census.

I think George is George Evans - the son of Harriet pre marriage - Sadly this doesn't help with the children that disappear :-\   Charles at least should be a Shoemaker in later census years  ??? ???
