The critical point is whether she died before 1855, when statutory civil registration started in Scotland.

There is a family in Croftamie, parish of Kilmaronock in 1841 comprising John Edmond, 45; William, 15; John, 13; James, 10; Robert, 5; Margaret, 20; Agnes, 18; Hellen, 16; Elisabeth,8.
In 1851, at the same address, are John, 60, born Killearn; Margaret, 31; William, 28; John, 24; James, 21; Elizabeth, 18; Robert, 15, all born Kilmaronock.
So it would appear that Helen must have died before the 1841 census. This makes it difficult to find her with certainty, having no idea how old she was or where she was born.
John Edmond, aged 80, died in Kilmaronock in 1870.
