Martin Harvey THOMAS 1834-1881
« on: Tuesday 30 June 20 05:02 BST (UK) »
Martin Harvey THOMAS died in New Zealand on 11 Aug 1881 aged 46 years so born 1834-35.

His death certificate names his parents as Martin THOMAS and Elizabeth THOMAS m.n. HARVEY. Birthplace is just given as Cornwall, England. Martin snr was a miner.

Have looked on Familysearch, Freereg, etc and can't find him. Closest one is a Martin Thomas baptised at Marazion, but his parents are Martin and Anne.

Hoping some fresh eyes can see something I can't.

Many thanks.
Ian C.

There is only 1 Martin Thomas / ? Harvey  Marriage And that is St Just in Penwith 30 Jan 1796. So perhaps the Harvey comes from his grandmother.  And it is the St Just baptism that is him

However, there Are other Thomas Harvey marriages, just not Martins

I can’t see (read) that family but found ‘Lovey’ at piece 141/13/1

Whilst I was looking for ‘Mart*’ in Buryan, I found with the same reference a group transcribed as ‘Harney’.

They are at the bottom of left hand page and I would say he is Martin Harvey, 65 yrs Farmer with another Martin 35 yrs and Ann 30 yrs plus younger ones.

They may be connected.

Well I like it!
Could Martin Thomas, 10, actually be Martin Thomas Bennetts the nephew of same age who is with Martin and Elizabeth in Buryan in 1851? :-\

No idea!
Anyway, he was baptized at St Just, 22 March 1831. Parents Thomas + Sybilla
